To participate in any active auction, your account must meet two basic requirements:
1. Sign In to an Active Account
You must be logged in to your BidZoo account to enter an auction and place a bid.
Note: You can enter auction when logged in, but to bid you must add payment.
2. Add an Active Payment Method
A valid billing method must be linked to your account before your first bid can be submitted and accepted.
- Navigate to Account > Payments & Payouts> Add a new payment method.
- If you are already in an auction and try to bid on an item, clicking Place Bid without a payment method on file will automatically bring the "add a payment method" pop up option as well.
Note: Your payment method will only be charged if you win an auction. Requiring a payment method on file ensures a safe, secure, and reliable marketplace for all buyers and sellers.
Placing a Bid in a Live Auction
Once you have your payment setup, within a live auction at anytime you can place a bid on any items using the place bid button. There is no limit to the numbers of bids or items you can bid on. It will always show the amount for the next bid on the button. Remember, all bids are binding and if you win, you must pay for the items purchased. The total of your current bids is always at the top bar in the live auction.
Using Max Bids
A max bid allows you to set the highest amount you’re willing to pay for an item during a live auction. BidZoo will automatically bid on your behalf, raising only the minimum amount needed to keep you in the lead. Bidding continues until either the item is won or your max bid is reached. You can cancel your max bid at any time during the auction. Using a max bid saves time and ensures you never pay more than you’re comfortable with. For full details, see our "What is Max Bid?" article.
Placing A Pre-Bid
Head over to the BidZoo homepage and browse our Upcoming Auctions to view scheduled events and featured listings.
If you can't attend live, you can place a pre-bid on your desired items beforehand. You can cancel or edit your pre-bid anytime before the auction starts. Once the auction starts it acts in the same way as a max bid.
Note: Always check where a seller ships to before placing a bid. If you are located in a country the seller does not ship to, you can still place a bid, but if you win, you must provide a valid shipping address within the seller's eligible country of origin. Otherwise, your order will be canceled and your account may be subject to suspension.
