What Is a Seller Bid (Computer Bid)?
A Seller Bid, also referred to as a Computer Bid, is an automated bid placed by BidZoo on behalf of the seller. Its sole purpose is to help reach the reserve price in a reserve auction.
How Seller Bids / Computer Bids Work
Seller Bids and Computer Bids:
- Are only used in auctions with a reserve
- Never exceed the stated reserve price
- Are not intended to artificially inflate bidding or mislead buyers
- Stop automatically once the reserve price is reached
Transparency in Auctions
When applicable, Seller Bids or Computer Bids may be clearly identified within the auction interface.
Once the reserve price is met, all subsequent bids must come from buyers.
Why This Practice Is Used
Seller (Computer) Bids are a standard auction practice designed to ensure that reserve auctions function as intended while maintaining fairness and transparency for all participants.
